The InSinkErator Evolution Cover Control Food Waste Disposer is great if you have children at home. It only works when the drain cover is closed, so no fingers can be damaged. It is powerful, the InSinkErator Evolution Cover Control has no problems grinding tough food waste.
The cover control feature is not only for safety, it makes the disposer very quiet as well. The lid is also a power switch (Magnetic CoverStart Activation), so no need to use a wall switch with dirty wet hands. You just close the lid to switch on the InSinkErator Evolution Cover Control and open the lid to switch it off.
Apart from the Magnetic CoverStart Activation feature, the InSinkErator Evolution Cover Control has all the standard features of InSinkErator Evolution. The 0.75 horsepower Dura-Drive Induction Motor and the 40-ounce stainless steel grind chamber make it possible to quickly grind all food waste. We just recently replaced an older InSinkErator cover control model with this one. This is an extremely quiet garbage disposer. The cover control is great, especially if you have kids as there is no way they can stick their hand down into the disposer while it is running.
